Viettel FC lifts 2026 National Championship Cup - Historic achievement of Vietnamese football

On December 15, 2026, at Hanoi Stadium, Viettel FC officially clinched the national football championship with a convincing 2-1 victory over rivals Thể Công Hanoi in the final match witnessed by thousands of fans. Two goals from striker Nguyễn Văn Sửu at the 23rd and 67th minutes helped Viettel FC take a 2-0 lead. Although defender Trần Văn Minh of Thể Công scored at the 78th minute, the green-shirted team maintained their defensive structure to preserve the victory until the end. Head coach Phạm Văn Đạt stated: "This victory is the result of rigorous training and team solidarity throughout the season.
